Additional Support Needs

Both The Crags and Blaze believe sport is for everyone not just the super confident and that is where our idea for an ASN Basketball Day grew and developed.

Over the past 2 years The Crags and Blaze have worked with Active Schools to welcome and include people from all walks of life into our community. You can read more about our story behind developing an ASN Basketball Day by clicking here.

We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our first ever Blocks of ASN Basketball at The Crags on Saturday mornings from 9am-10am in partnership with Blaze Basketball Club and Active Schools Edinburgh.

Feedback

“Blaze have been providing fun basketball skill sessions to children with autism and learning disabilities throughout Edinburgh’s special schools. This has given pupils, many who had not previously played basketball, the chance to try a new and exciting sport. By taking the time to get to know the schools and pupils before delivering sessions it has meant Blaze have been able to tailor sessions to meet the varying needs and abilities of the children involved in sessions. Blaze have a willingness to take a flexible approach to delivery ensuring children achieve their own personal best.” – Jill Coleman, Active Schools Edinburgh.
